The time to reach your goals is now

Leadership Coaching with Michael Gregor

I coach visionary leaders who are working to change systems. You’ve hit a bump in the road and are ready to find a new approach. You want to invest in your own excellence with the support of a trusted thought partner. That’s where I come in—leveraging our shared creativity to break through your personal obstacles while holding you accountable.

Why invest in the courageous work of coaching?

  • Coaching empowers you to think big and take action that deeply resonates—for the benefit of yourself, your teams, and your community. The world needs your ideas and creative action.

  • Coaching is a powerful tool for noticing the beliefs and perceptions that limit you, hold you back, and tell you that you are not worthy. Moving away from these and into possibility, you can achieve things you never imagined.

  • Coaching fuels you to embrace your values in every situation so you can be the authentic leader the world needs. I’ll help clarify your values and apply them to all parts of life and leadership.

  • Living a life of fulfillment is a radical act that we all deserve access to. Coaching challenges you to fully express who you are and do what is right for you in every situation. I offer my unconditional support along the way.

  • When developing white identity in a compassionate space, my white clients can live in right relationship with others while finding their role in systems change. I’ll help you deepen your insight into how race and other identity characteristics impact your leadership. I work with clients of all identities and have specific experience in healthy white identity development for those who want to grow in this area.

“Hands down, Michael is the best coach and consultant I've ever experienced. He listens better than anyone I've ever worked with. And he does so with grace and kindness, but also with direction while holding me to account to get goals done. He's so thoughtful and also very funny. We have a lot of fun together. But he always brings it back to getting the work done that I need to do to have better balance in my work life and personal life.”

—Chantal, Communications & Development Manager at Deschutes Public Library

I really appreciated how he weaves mindfulness into his coaching—a great reminder to be present and connect mind and body. Working with Michael felt like a buzzing creative partnership and provided a powerful boost for my confidence and work/life direction.”

“It was a fantastic experience. Michael helped me establish my core values in my life, which were helpful for me to set directions and make better decisions at work. I loved that he always gave me practical tips and action items I could practice daily. I challenged myself by achieving small weekly goals and felt more confident! I recommend Michael to people who want to grow more by understanding themselves.”

What is coaching like?

As a coach, I bring 15 years of experience working with visionary leaders on their toughest organizational dysfunctions. I offer openness, good humor, deep listening, and a non-judgmental approach to my coaching and facilitation engagements. Clients have come to rely on me for my creativity, compassionate provocation, and inclusive style as I support them in achieving their goals.

My job as an executive coach is to evoke personal and professional transformation, leading to a more fulfilling career and a healthier organization. I ask powerful questions, listen, and elicit your creativity while drawing on my experience to expose you to new ideas and practices. Together, we take a closer look at you as a whole person and start the development journey from within by asking how you are being, what drives you, and the connection between those two points.

My training is rooted in co-active coaching, change management, agile ways of working, equity + inclusion, human-centered design, and mindfulness. (Read about the science of transformational coaching here). I help you try new things—even when that feels a bit uncomfortable or uncertain. We grow and learn by taking action— my clients make dramatic transformations when they “try on something new.” I offer practices and techniques that can appear simple on the surface but lead to profound change within you.

I often use these tools and topics in my coaching:

  • Daily habits & structures for resiliency and happiness

  • Life purpose & values

  • Goals & commitments

  • Giving & receiving feedback

  • Building & rebuilding trust

  • Sharing power

  • Equity, diversity, & inclusion

  • Inclusive meeting facilitation

  • Prioritization & strategy

  • Crucial conversations & conflict

  • Transparency & internal communication

  • Antidotes to white supremacy culture

What are we solving for in coaching?

Here are some of the common problems that people come to executive coaching with. Have you experienced any of them?

  • I’m anxious about being in a new leadership role, feeling that I don’t deserve it, and worried that I’ll perform poorly

  • I want to prepare for a new leadership role or promotion, and not sure how to get there

  • I’m new or inexperienced at managing others, and I don’t know how to handle all the problems that are coming up

  • I’m pushing hard for change at my organization and others are pushing back… I’m feeling alone in the fight and losing motivation

  • I want to choose the equitable and anti-racist path as a leader, but I’m not sure how to do it

  • I have serious conflict with a colleague that keeps me up at night

  • My job is essential, and I don’t want to burn out or allow my team to burn out... but I’m worried that we will

  • It doesn’t feel like I’m really living out my values at work

  • The leadership methods and practices I have come to rely on aren’t working anymore
